How Student Innovation Solved a Major Administrative Headache at Fellowship Christian School

From Email Chaos to Seamless Success – The ARF Platform

Imagine drowning in over 1,000 emails just to manage a single staff incentive program. That was the reality for Fellowship Christian School's Achievement Reward Framework (ARF) – a valuable voluntary program that lets employees boost their compensation through meaningful achievements. While the program itself was beloved, administering it had become a nightmare: endless back-and-forth messages, lost documentation, and frustrated staff struggling to submit, track, and follow up on their projects.

Enter a group of talented high school students who turned this pain point into a powerful solution. As part of their Web App Development class, they built ARF – a modern, user-friendly web platform that completely transformed how the program is managed.

The result? Happier staff, dramatically less admin work, and real-time transparency for everyone involved.

The Story Behind ARF

The Development Process

  • Research & Analysis: Students mapped out the business processes and identified key data relationships
  • Design: Designed a comprehensive data schema to support the application
  • Development: Built the app using a modern web framework, crafting the user interface with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • User Testing: Hosted weekly demos with various users, surveying their needs and validating the beta solution
  • Iteration: Updated the application weekly, using AI to help craft and optimize the code

The project was successful and became a key platform for FCS for the 2025-26 school year. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive!

Impact & Results

  • Staff: Love the ease of use and having a one-stop place for project tracking
  • Administration: ARF admin saved at least 30% of her time administering the program
  • Efficiency: Dramatically reduced email volume and streamlined the approval process
  • Transparency: All stakeholders can now track progress in real-time
